Are you ready to meet New York's resident whales? Believe it or not, New Yorkers have good news swimming all around us! The return of whales to the New York Bight is a sign that the health of our marine ecosystem has bee improving.
In this one hour webinar we will set sail with Gotham Whale, New York City's very own whale watching tour. We'll see different whale behavior as photographed within range of New York Harbor, including breaching and lunge feeding. We'll also meet some very special New Yorkers - including Jerry the Whale - and learn how often they return to New York waters, and how Gotham Whale identifies and tracks them. Whales migrate a long distance before reaching New York, so we will also hear from Oceana colleagues in Georgia about this long migration, the key pillars of a healthy marine ecosystem, and how we can protect them.
Tune in for this fun adventure, enjoy some good news about New York's marine environment, take action to protect it, and let's meet some neighbors who really enjoy making a splash - the whales of New York!
